UPDATE: We are going with the 2018 VW Atlas

If you have not heard of it or checked it out, I would if you are considering an SUV with a 3rd Row or have multiple kids.  It drives nice, great  interior space, all-around appeal and cool infotainment system  with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, making it the right choice for drivers and passengers looking to stay connected on the road.

Will I be living the mini van dream?ME

With the reality that in a few months there will be two more passengers in the car with me I am trying to figure out what SUV can fit three cat seats across.  By three across I mean a two-year old who is forward facing in a car seat and then will have 2 newborns in the the carriers with the bases attached.

I would like to stay with an SUV. And really looking for anyone with experience with this configuration.  Did you go 3 across? Get an SUV with a 3rd row? Captains seats with the row in the middle?

Below is a list of cars I found online that fit three child-safety seats from Cars.com Car Seat Checks that can fit three car seats in the second row.  Here is a good resource if you are thinking about buying car seats to go into your vehicle.

About Cars.com’s Car Seat Checks

For Car Seat Checks, the front seats are adjusted to a comfortable position for a 6-foot driver and a 5-foot-8 passenger. The three child seats — a high-back booster seat, convertible car seat and rear-facing infant-safety seat — are installed in the second row. The booster seat sits behind the driver’s seat, and the infant and convertible seats are installed behind the passenger seat. We also install the infant seat in the second row’s middle seat with the booster and convertible in the outboard seats to see if three car seats will fit; a child sitting in the booster seat must be able to reach the seat belt buckle. If there’s a third row, we install the booster seat and a forward-facing convertible.
